The revised Policy Plan (updated May 2019) is available for public review!!

Updated versions of the Policy Plan, policy maps and tables, and other supporting materials are now available. See below for revised materials, and visit our beta site to see the revised Policy Plan (updated May 2019) in a web-based version.

What is it?

As part of the Countywide Plan, the County Policy Plan, provides:

  • An update of the County’s General Plan and Community Plans addressing physical, social, and economic issues facing the unincorporated portions of the County.
  • An expansion of the County’s General Plan to address supportive services for adults and children, healthcare services, public safety, and other regional county services provided to both incorporated and unincorporated areas.

When will it start?

The Policy Plan was be started in 2017 and an initial public review draft was released in August 2018 and a revised public review draft was released in May 2019.  The Policy Plan will also be evaluated through a programmatic environmental impact report (EIR) in 2019, with adoption expected late in 2019.

Draft Materials

All documents are drafts, intended only for public review. Following public input during the Draft Environmental Impact Report public review period (mid-2019), a draft County Policy Plan suitable for public adoption hearings will be released later in 2019.

Graphics, photos, and search functionality are in development and will be included in subsequent releases of the web-based Plan.
